Beginner Setup (First 1–2 Months)
You do not need to purchase equipment before your first class.
Dojo bokken and obi are available for new students to try training before committing.
Once you become a member, please purchase the following:
1. Bokken (Required)
We recommend the Master Series Iaido Practice Set (Natural Bokken with Saya) from E-Bogu.

This model:

- Is suitable for both kata and kumitachi
- Is appropriately balanced for Mugai-ryu practice
Students may optionally purchase the Long & Short Bokken Set if they wish to prepare for future daishō practice. However, the short sword is not required for beginners.

2. Tsuba & Stopper (Required)
When ordering your bokken, please also add:
- Tsuba (hand guard)
- Rubber stopper
Any color is acceptable (white, brown, or black).
This is required for kumitachi practice.
3. Obi (Required)

A standard kaku-style obi suitable for iaido practice.
There is no color requirement and any can be chosen that you prefer.
